"It takes two to know one." George Bateson
You may be considering counselling or therapy for the first time, or to continue a journey of self-exploration. Sometimes, you may be coping on the outside, while inside, feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck. You may be impacted by painful experiences in the past or present. Perhaps you hope to feel more balanced, with a richer and more rewarding relationship with yourself and others. Therapy can help this, as we work together to make sense of your experience, identify challenges, and find your inner and outer resources.
I'm a highly experienced therapist, accredited by the UK Council For Psychotherapy (UKCP) and registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I follow their Ethical Frameworks.
I work sensitively with diverse identities. I use culturally responsive and affirming practice. I acknowledge the pressures of social inequities, masking and burnout. I hold a firm commitment to anti-oppressive practice.
I provide a warm and supportive space. Often, a chance to give voice to what's going on for you offers relief. Together, we can reflect on challenges you might be facing, difficult feelings you might have and unwanted thoughts. We'll also discover and affirm your talents and strengths, as we travel the road to insight, growth and compassion. The aim is to make meaning and the capacity to live a fuller life.
I'm also a UKCP-accredited supervisor. Please see Supervision for further details.
